In 1884, knife maker Karl Elsener started his own workshop in the village of Ibach, in the heart of Switzerland. A few years later, he designed “The Original Swiss Army Knife,” which has since become a worldwide symbol of quality, functionality, and Swiss innovative talent. Victorinox remains an independent family business to this day, now serving markets across the globe and led by the third and fourth generations of the Elsener family.
